The new IASME Cyber Assurance Question Set (v7) officially launches today.
If you’re working towards certification using the existing Hartnell ICA Level 1 system, there are some important dates to be aware of:
- New applications will be aligned to the new v7 standard as of today
- The final deadline to complete existing “Hartnell” assessments is 28th November 2025
- After 28th November, existing “Hartnell” assessments that are not completed will need to be migrated onto v7 and a new application fee will be incurred.
If your organisation is mid-way through the ICA L1 assessment process on the Hartnell question set, please reach out to us to discuss whether it would be more appropriate to migrate you onto the new v7 question set. If you want to complete against Hartnell, it’s essential to finalise and submit it before the cut-off to avoid losing any progress.
This update is part of IASME’s continued efforts to evolve the Cyber Assurance scheme and ensure it remains relevant, practical, and aligned with modern threats and expectations.
Why Cyber Assurance?
Cyber Assurance is a flexible and comprehensive standard, designed for organisations that want a practical approach to managing cyber security across people, processes, and technology.
It includes both technical controls and governance-based measures, providing a risk-based framework for cyber security that can adapt to your business needs. It also offers the option for independent third-party assessment and is often a valuable step for organisations working towards ISO 27001 or similar standards.
Key benefits include:
- Recognition of a comprehensive approach to cyber risk
- A practical roadmap that scales with your organisation
- Support for demonstrating supply chain and regulatory compliance
- Alignment with government-backed initiatives such as Cyber Essentials
Whether you’re using it to build confidence with stakeholders, improve governance, or support tender requirements, Cyber Assurance is a valuable asset for demonstrating real-world cyber maturity.
