Handling Confidential Information

Handling Confidential Information

Protect What Matters

This course covers the practical side of handling personal data and confidential information at work. It explains what personal data is, why UK Data Protection law requires organisations to look after it, and what that means for your day-to-day responsibilities. The same principles apply to other confidential material such as commercially sensitive information. You work through realistic scenarios, including an accidental data breach and a subject access request, and finish with a 10-question quiz (80% pass mark, unlimited retries).

Who should take this course?

Most roles involve handling personal data or confidential information in some form, so the course is aimed at all staff. It is particularly relevant if you collect, store, use or share information about colleagues, customers, service users or third parties.

Which learning format suits you best?

Our e‑learning courses are designed to be flexible, so you can choose the delivery option that best fits your organisation. Courses can be accessed via our hosted LMS (Learning Management System), which is ideal if you want a low‑maintenance option with no internal system to manage. We take care of hosting and access, giving you a simple way to roll out training and track completion. Alternatively, courses are available on a perpetual licence as SCORM or HTML5 packages for organisations with an existing LMS. This allows you to host and manage the training internally while retaining full control over assignment and reporting. Annual update options are available to keep content aligned with changes in regulation, threats and best practice, ensuring training remains current year on year.
