This course gives staff a practical grounding in using AI tools at work. Across four short modules and a final assessment, it covers what AI is, the risks to be aware of (data leakage, inaccuracy, bias), how to write prompts that produce useful results, and what changes as AI agents begin acting on your behalf. Each module includes a knowledge check, and the course finishes with an eight-question assessment (80% pass mark, unlimited retries). A certificate is provided on completion.

The course is relevant to anyone who uses AI tools at work or expects to in the near future. No prior technical knowledge is needed. It is equally useful for staff who are just getting started and for regular users who want a better understanding of the risks and how to get more from their prompts.
Which learning format suits you best?
Our e‑learning courses are designed to be flexible, so you can choose the delivery option that best fits your organisation. Courses can be accessed via our hosted LMS (Learning Management System), which is ideal if you want a low‑maintenance option with no internal system to manage. We take care of hosting and access, giving you a simple way to roll out training and track completion. Alternatively, courses are available on a perpetual licence as SCORM or HTML5 packages for organisations with an existing LMS. This allows you to host and manage the training internally while retaining full control over assignment and reporting. Annual update options are available to keep content aligned with changes in regulation, threats and best practice, ensuring training remains current year on year.

AI in the Workplace: What & Why
A plain-English introduction to AI and generative AI, with common workplace uses such as email drafting, summarisation and research. Establishes the principle that AI is a tool, not a decision-maker, and introduces the risks covered in the next module. Ends with a 2-question knowledge check.

AI Risks & Safe Use
Covers the key risks: data leakage when using public tools, hallucinations and accuracy issues, and bias. Introduces a set of practical do's and don'ts for safe use. Assessment is a scenario-based exercise where you classify situations as low, medium or high risk.

Prompting & Output Quality
How to write clear, structured prompts using a Task + Context + Format approach, and how to review outputs against three checks: accuracy, relevance and completeness. Assessment is a combined exercise where you identify strong and weak prompts and decide whether to accept, refine or reject an output.

Agentic AI: What's Changing
What agentic AI is, how agents work (goals, tools, multi-step actions), practical examples such as email automation and research agents, and the associated risks around control, data exposure and unpredictability. Assessment is a "Would you trust the agent?" scenario.

Final Assessment
Eight questions covering the full course, including multiple choice, scenario-based decisions, and prompt evaluation. 80% pass mark, instant feedback, unlimited retries. Questions are shuffled on each attempt. Certificate provided on passing.
