DCC Unlocked: Cyber Certification in Defence
In this short session, we unpack one of the newest developments in UK defence industry supply chain assurance. Designed and delivered by IASME, DCC is becoming an important framework for organisations working in, or supplying into, the defence sector. But as with any new standard, there’s plenty of confusion about what it is, who it applies to, and how it fits alongside existing cyber and operational requirements.
With our Technical Director David Moffatt serving as a certified DCC assessor, and Evolve North acting as a certification body, we work closely with organisations navigating the scheme, and in around 20 minutes, we explain what it all means. We explain what DCC involves, what the different certification levels really mean in practice, and why Cyber Essentials forms the foundation. We also share what we’re already seeing from organisations starting their DCC journey, why this standard has been introduced now, and what it signals for the future of cyber assurance in the defence supply chain. Most importantly, we explore how DCC differs from other cyber or operational standards, and the strategic value it can bring beyond compliance, from strengthening resilience to improving credibility in defence procurement.
Whether you’re completely new to DCC or beginning to see it appear in contracts and conversations, this session will give you a clear, practical understanding of what it means and what to think about next.
