We are pleased to share that The Community Foundation has been awarded it’s Cyber Essentials Plus Certification, for all its grant applicants, donors, members and other stakeholders.
The Community Foundation are a North East charity and the largest community foundation in the UK. Their vision is to see communities thrive across North East England, with fairness and generosity changing lives and helping everyone feel they belong.
Mike Whitfield, Head of Operations at the Community Foundation said:
“We want to do all we can reasonably do to protect our systems and the data we hold from malicious attacks. Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation gives us a practical way of helping to ensure our systems are well protected whilst also being able to demonstrate and give confidence to our stakeholders that cybersecurity is embedded in all levels of our organisation”.
Gary Reeves, of Evolve North who helped get the Community Foundation the Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation added:
“We are very pleased to see that Community Foundation have achieved their Cyber Essentials Plus certification with our support. Working with Mike and the Community Foundation team made the process a breeze and we are glad to see them taking strong steps forward with their Cybersecurity strategy with Cyber Essentials Plus”.
Cyber Essentials?
Cyber Essentials is a Government-backed scheme that will help protect the Foundation and the data the Foundation holds against a range of the most common cyber-attacks. Certification proves the Foundation’s defences will protect against the vast majority of common cyber-attacks because these attacks are looking for targets which do not have the Cyber Essentials technical controls in place.
